《大學英語（上冊 第2版）》每單元由Text A，Text B和Further Study組成。每單元前均有Guidance， 告知學生本單元要掌握的重點及難點。Text A和Text B屬于正文學習，其后面的練習編寫主要圍繞課文理 解，課文所涉及的句型、詞匯及語法，旨在鞏固、提 高所學的知識。FurtherStudy是延伸拓展學習，其中 的Communication Skills總結(jié)歸納了日常生活中的 交際用語；Grammar是《大學英語（上冊 第2版）》與同類書語法設計迥異的 地方，《大學英語（上冊 第2版）》打破了常規(guī)的語法講解，取而代之的是對 英語寫作中易犯錯誤的語法的歸納講解和練習。
Writing部分由淺及深，從句子翻譯過渡到篇章寫作 ，體現(xiàn)了語言學習循序漸進的輸出功能。
