《視聽說教程（教師手冊(cè)2）/新世紀(jì)大學(xué)英語系列教材（第二版）》每個(gè)單元由Lesson A（Listening&Speaking）和Lesson B（Video Course）構(gòu)成。
Lesson A從第一節(jié)到第四節(jié)，詳細(xì)設(shè)計(jì)了語言點(diǎn)的引入、交際功能表達(dá)法的介紹、題材的介紹等等。
第一節(jié)Vocabulary Link是介紹與本節(jié)題材與交際功能有關(guān)的詞匯和短語，第二節(jié)Listening是結(jié)合情景與交際功能進(jìn)行聽力練習(xí)，第三節(jié)Pronunciation為語音訓(xùn)練提供基本知識(shí)和示范，第四節(jié)Speaking&Communication結(jié)合情景與交際功能進(jìn)行聽和說的綜合練習(xí)，將這些材料有機(jī)結(jié)合，在課堂里進(jìn)行操練和仿說練習(xí)，幫助學(xué)生有效提高聽和說的能力。教材每單元內(nèi)容比較充裕，如果按計(jì)劃進(jìn)行聽和說的操練，一般學(xué)校能夠在課堂時(shí)間內(nèi)完成教材內(nèi)容。但有些學(xué)校如果因?yàn)榘嗉?jí)太大，在課堂內(nèi)組織口語練習(xí)確有困難，可以根據(jù)實(shí)際情況對(duì)內(nèi)容進(jìn)行選擇，把課內(nèi)時(shí)間集中在聽力練習(xí)上，重點(diǎn)發(fā)展學(xué)生的英語聽解能力。對(duì)于班級(jí)里英語程度比較好的有條件的學(xué)生，可鼓勵(lì)他們?cè)谡n外通過網(wǎng)絡(luò)課件進(jìn)一步進(jìn)行聽、說操練，全面提高英語聽、說能力。
另外，第三版對(duì)Lesson B也做了相應(yīng)的調(diào)整和補(bǔ)充，目的是幫助學(xué)生在理解的基礎(chǔ)上切實(shí)提高英語口語能力。第一部分Global Viewpoints是采訪不同的人就同一題材發(fā)表觀點(diǎn)，受訪者來自世界各地，英語地道、規(guī)范，語速正常，還可能帶有一點(diǎn)當(dāng)?shù)乜谝簦@些正是現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中可能遇到的情況。為了幫助學(xué)生充分理解說話內(nèi)容，教材設(shè)計(jì)了相應(yīng)的練習(xí)提高聽解能力，同時(shí)也增加一些產(chǎn)出練習(xí)。第二部分City Living是情景喜劇短片，有人物，有情節(jié)，有故事。
但是僅僅看懂故事梗概并不是語言課的目的。英語課的目的是幫助學(xué)生掌握其中的語言，尤其是要學(xué)習(xí)其中的Everyday English，表達(dá)交際功能的語言手段，以及掌握談?wù)撃硞�(gè)題材所需的詞語，這些英語口語中最常用的預(yù)構(gòu)成語塊是會(huì)話策略的重要語言手段，學(xué)生要結(jié)合短片中的情景、人物表情和肢體語言，充分理解、熟練掌握。為此，教材設(shè)計(jì)了各種有效的練習(xí)，幫助學(xué)生掌握地道的英語，加強(qiáng)語感，同時(shí)提高學(xué)習(xí)語言的興趣。
