這本作品集收錄了2013年至2022年這10年來國(guó)防科技大學(xué)師生創(chuàng)作的英語作品，它是大學(xué)英語教學(xué)改革的階段性成果，也是對(duì)軍校生活學(xué)習(xí)的真實(shí)寫照。其作者有即將卸下軍裝光榮退休的行政干部，有在一線教學(xué)單位工作數(shù)年的資深教授，有留學(xué)歸來加入科大的年輕教員，但大部分作品還是來源于在校本科生、研究生的創(chuàng)作。這些文章有的是英文作文大賽的獲獎(jiǎng)作品，有的是英語文化節(jié)的朗誦詩(shī)歌，還有的是被任教的英語教員推薦過來的，他們用第二語言譜寫著自己的成長(zhǎng)和生活，暢想著對(duì)生活的熱愛和對(duì)未來的憧憬。
